Literature Entry Week Five

Week Five has been a week full of emotions and thoughts. It has been such a busy week in trying to juggle important assessments, notes, as well as work and trying to enjoy the weekend. This week for LiveJournal I thought I would do something different and something I haven’t done in a while. This is just to place my thoughts and experiences that I have had this week roaming in my mind.

As Mahatma Gandhi once said:

“The future depends on what we do in the present”

Personally, what Gandhi once said really effects me as a person as I really believe in this saying as I believe that working hard now will ultimately pay of sooner rather than later. As a student living at home with my parents and siblings, I find it hard to sometimes just sit at home and study. There are way too many distractions! However, getting use to blocking out the distractions I find myself working harder and harder as the days of my life pass by. My mum is a person in my life who is constantly observing and seeing what I go through every day. She is a person who always in my life has encouraged me to do my best and to live life to the fullest. Sometimes when I’m home she’ll come into my room in the morning and would be like, “Reg, come on get up and start your uni work early so you can enjoy the rest of the day”. However, when I complain to mum or to any one about how much work I have or just about anything, they remind me that all this work now in the present will definitely pay off in the future. Therefore, the above quote I think really reflects me as a person and everything that I believe in. I feel as if it motivates me to always strive to do my best in all that I do and that the future really does depend on what we do in the present.

This brings me to my next point. When I do any thing in life I believe I should always put a hundred per cent in everything that I do. This is for the reason that when I look back on m life or on my day, I now I’ve tried my personal best and therefore I have no regrets. By having no regrets I know I have achieved the very best. As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said:

“Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm”

Therefore by constantly putting in the effort, which definitely requires enthusiasm, then I know the end result will be great and definitely worth the effort that I have put in. When I’m feeling down or when I’m feeling tired and just need a break off uni I know that I won’t be able to fully function and concentrate. By not being able to fully function or concentrate I know I can’t achieve my best. So personally I have decided that when I need to get work done, I will only get this work done when I have full energy, am able to concentrate and work hard. By having these qualities, I become unstoppable as well as by having enthusiasm I am fully able to function and am able to ultimately achieve great results.

I believe that we always and completely deliver the best we possibly can. By having excellence we always and continually strive to achieve what we know we can achieve when we put in the effort. Personally, I know that the excellence and effort I put in all I do is ultimately worth it and truly does show in all that I do.

Aristotle:“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit”

I think one way of describing human beings and in particular I is that we are all like chains.

We are all like chains because we are strong, unbreakable, unstoppable, thick and never-ending.

I was really intrigued by the way you layed out your literature entry this week! It was a bit different fromt he general text summary and weekly analysis. I also like the way they refer to humans as chains-even though we are all individuals, we literally couldnt survive without each other- ie. doctors, teaches, parents. Nice work!

Hey Reggi...

I must say that reading your entry on this wet and gloomy day has uplifted me. Everything you said was Inspiring and very relevant to this time in our lives.

One thing tha especially grabbed my attention and made my day was how everything we do, in working hard etc will pay off.

Thats the whole point in doing things... otherwise there would be no Purpose. That hit me to the head like a truck!

Thanks for your insight, as it has rather awoken me...

All the Best... remember it's all worth it!
